Unseen Bio ApS is a Danish health-tech company founded in 2018 by Johan Hartmann and Jens Gandløse with a clear vision: to raise awareness of gut health as a key to preventing disease and improving people's quality of life.

With a passion for innovation and a strong scientific foundation, we developed a consumer-oriented microbiome test that provides insight into gut health. Although the original ambition was to bring the test to market within six months, it required extensive research and development to create a product that lived up to our high standards. In 2021, we launched our first microbiome test, and today our tests are used across Europe with results delivered to more than 20 countries.

Behind Unseen Bio is an international team of specialists in bioinformatics, food, bioengineering and software development. With six nationalities represented, we work interdisciplinary to translate complex science into actionable solutions that benefit both consumers and businesses.

In addition to our direct-to-consumer solutions, we also collaborate with food and supplement manufacturers who want to leverage microbiome data to develop even better products. Through our microbiome analyses, we help companies understand how their products affect the gut flora and how they can be optimized to support a healthy microbiota.
