"It's truly an eye opener for me to finally see how my Digital Gut™ is composed. Now I know which foods are truly good for me.

Stress Symptoms Led to a Gut Flora Test

Pernille, 40 years old, has two children, works as a marketing manager, and is also a certified fitness instructor. By most standards, she leads a healthy life with a varied diet and plenty of exercise. So when her stools became completely liquid over an extended period a couple of years ago, she grew concerned. She wanted answers about whether something was wrong, even though she had a feeling it might be stress-related. So she decided to have her gut flora analyzed.

"It was just a tough time trying to keep everything together, and I could feel some mild stress symptoms. I didn't think it was anything serious. I do everything I can to live healthily in my day-to-day life. So it was reassuring to get a status on my gut bacteria and find out what I could do to support my gut health," she explains.

With Pernille's busy schedule, finding time to visit a doctor and get a referral to a specialist can be a challenge. She was therefore hugely relieved when she came across the Unseen Bio test kit, which examines the state of your gut.

A unique technology for testing the gut flora

Many people are unaware that the gut can reveal a great deal about how your lifestyle is affecting you - including whether you are eating the right diet, which is highly individual and varies from person to person.

"The technology is relatively new and developing rapidly. We are constantly getting better and more precise at helping each customer with individual data analysis and personalized nutrition, so we can play an increasingly meaningful role in improving people's health. That said, it is important to note that we do not make diagnoses," says co-founder Johan Hartmann from Unseen Bio.

Why is a carrot healthy?

For Pernille, having a gut flora analysis done was a natural next step, a way to find out whether there was anything she could change in her diet to optimize her health.

"I have tried various diets, like paleo and vegan, but I don't want it to become some extreme thing. It just gets too complicated in everyday life - especially with two kids."

She took the test, and as it turned out, her diet and exercise habits were in pretty good shape. So, staying active, it turns out, also benefits the gut. But knowing she was doing the "right things" gave her real peace of mind, she says.

"I find it incredibly fascinating that you can measure and map how we can improve our overall health by making changes to our diet. So I'm thinking I'll have another analysis done further down the line, to see which direction things are heading compared to before."
